The homestead and base camp is a modern lodge nestled in a remote canyon at 7,400 feet on the Eastern slope of Apache Mountain in New Mexico. Here you can quench your thirst with a drink of cool mountain water from Negrito Springs and warm your heart with nightly bonfires. Enjoy Southwestern recipes and cowboy cooking. You are invited to "rub elbows" with the descendants of Geronimo and the Conquistadors. Meet the sons of pioneers, cowboys and mountainmen. Ancient Tularosa people lived here, drank from the springs, irrigated corn and beans, and built pit houses. A sense of awe and curiosity grow as you realize the breadth of this now lost culture which had once thrived here.
